Container Chairs – Built to Disappear is not just a single piece of furniture — it’s a modular system composed of six chairs and two tables that transform into one compact container when not in use. What begins as a functional set for sitting and gathering can be collapsed into a clean, geometric volume — seamless, elegant, and nearly invisible.
Designed by Anton Defant and precisely crafted by KARST, the project merges clarity of form with refined craftsmanship. Made from warm cherry wood veneer, the system is lightweight, stackable, and space-efficient.
At the heart of the concept is disappearance — not as retreat, but as a statement of spatial intelligence and flexibility. What is needed appears; what isn’t fades away. The Container Chair is furniture that thinks with the room, adapts to its context, and ultimately vanishes into itself.
